Included in our works was the provision of the infrastructure for the sports equipment and ancillary devices. Also involved was the co-ordination of the specialist suppliers, for programming purposes it was very important to ensure their equipment’s delivery and installation ran smoothly. As well as this there was relocating the reception and modification of the kitchen.

During school term we carried out modernisation works to the school access and egress. We have successfully worked at this school for several years. Aspects of the project included:
- Fire alarm upgrade.
- Disabled access doors door control.
- Specialist door opening systems.
- Hand railing.
- Tactile paving.
Much of this work was carried out within the college buildings, sports hall, canteen, corridors etc. Prior to commencing works we met with the school management to arrange times as to when we could best carry out the various tasks. We strategically aimed to pour any concrete steps/ramps on a Friday so that students would have access on a Monday morning. We had asphalt repairs so we asked the contractor to do this on a Saturday so as to minimise student contact with hot asphalt. Exams were also going on at this time so we organised any demolitions and cutting to happen outside exam hours. Each site member was handpicked and given specific tool box talk on working in an environment where young people are working/playing. We operated zero tolerance of student interaction.
